Marvel’s Taika Waititi has teased what fans can expect from his Star Wars movie.
The Thor: Love and Thunder director is due to work on a new adventure in the iconic sci-fi franchise, though further information on it is scarce at the moment.
What we do know is that he is writing it alongside 1917‘s Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and in a new interview with Wired, Waititi revealed that they do have a story as things stand.

“It’s still in the ‘EXT. SPACE’ stage,” he laughed. “But we’ve got a story. I’m really excited by it because it feels very me.”
Teasing how his famously irreverent style will gel with the Star Wars universe, the director explained: “I tend to go down that little sincerity alleyway in my films.
“I like to fool the viewer into thinking ‘ha it’s this’ and then them going, ‘Damn it, you made me feel something!'”

Back in June, Waititi expressed hope that his Star Wars movie would be his next project amid his busy schedule.
“I hope it’ll be that but there’s a whole lot of other little things that I’ve got my sticky little fingers attached to so we’ll see,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
As well as Star Wars and Thor: Love and Thunder, the director is also involved in a new Flash Gordon reboot, which will now be live-action rather than animated.
